Technician IV - Research & Development

Provide engineering assistance to R & D. Assist in design completion and documentation through prototype assembly and checkout. Communicating with Engineers and Designers to ensure R & D requirements are met. Complete and verify all processes and procedures are accurately followed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build, troubleshoot, check out, and calibrate alpha and beta systems or components
  • Maintain and organize the R & D lab, and equipment.
  • Execute verification and validation tests on new and improved systems.
  • Support electronics design efforts including design of prototypes, capture/generation of schematics, and proof of concept.
  • Interface with Electrical Engineer, R & D staff engineers, and Director of Engineering to resolve R & D issues.
  • Create and modify prototypes, assemblies, CAD designs and create instruction documentation as required. Work with Production personnel to transition design from prototype to final product
  • Fill out necessary forms (Calibration, Change Orders, etc.)

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • 2 year technical degree or equivalent work experience
  • Understanding electronics fundamentals, electro-mechanical systems, and basic mechanical assembly techniques.
  • Ability to read and understand drawing and Electrical/electronic schematics.
  • Should be conversant with mechanical and electrical design.
  • Hands-on PC computer skills
  • Good communications skills and ability to work within a team
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions

Regional Account Manager, JAPAN

This position is responsible for managing all sales and booking activities for Japan. Taking a forward-looking, business development approach, identify and capture new accounts and develop business opportunities from existing accounts. Establish a thorough understanding of the company's key markets, test applications and products.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create and implement a regional strategic account sales plan
  • Develop new customer accounts
  • Expand sales within key accounts horizontally and vertically; ensure complete penetration
  • Coordinate all customer activity as described in a well defined sales process from initial contact to order closure
  • Generate sales forecasts and periodic reports for the region
  • Serve as the account spokesperson in our customer-centric organization
  • Prepare quotations working with Marketing and Engineering as needed
  • Communicate customers' needs and wants to management team
  • Gather competitive information and share with management team
  • Maintain updated customer contact information in relevant areas
  • Miscellaneous projects as requested by management.

Position requirements include:

  • 4 year Engineering degree, Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • 3 to 5 years related sales experience
  • Adept with computer applications such as Microsoft Office & ACT
  • Demonstrated organizational and customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must be proficient in both the Japanese language and the English language.
